Mumm Brut Pink: a Champagne that instantly evokes a vision of beauty. Rosé has always proved popular with even the most hardcore Champagne lovers, and this one, with its notes of red fruit and vivid citrus, is no exception.
Classy and greedy, it's a wine that will turn an evening with desserts into a luxurious feast. Grilled prawns and Salmon will also benefit favourably from this wine, which is loved by many and one that comes from a long period of interesting history... The very first pink wine to appear under the name of Royal, the Champagne Pink Mumm is one that began its middle life under the watchful eye of the Chairman of the House – one René Lalou.
A Century after its initial creation, he found himself seeking a symbolic wine...one which would show the world just what Mumm had to offer. He soon stumbled upon a fine idea: he would ask his Japanese painter friend Leonard Foujita to make the wine eternal by producing a painting for the bottle – a rose, in watercolour. And to this day that same painting exists to tell the story. A brother of the similar Cordon Rouge concoction, the G.H Mumm Rose can be distinguished by its assembly: an additional blend of as much as 14% red wine making it stand out from the rest.
A pale salmon dress – pink and alluring – also makes this bottle special. Reflections of oranges add to the mystique, and on the nose this concoction soon allows a flood of wild strawberry, pink grapefruit and morello cherry to break through and please the drinker. At the end of this are notes of vanilla and honey which lead, finally, into a palate of shining red fruit notes. Ever so slightly tart, this wine is fresh and full and just as subtle as it is attractive to the eye.
